Work Here

We look for people who have actually built things, and who like children, in that order. You can be taught to run a room. You cannot be taught to find a gear train interesting.

Nothing here fits?

We add classes when we find the right person to teach them. If you have a subject you could run brilliantly for children (astronomy, chemistry, coding, woodwork), tell us what it is and how you would teach it.

  • Tell us the subject and the age range
  • Sketch out what a session would look like
  • We reply to everything, including the speculative ones

What it is like

Twelve kids, one bench each, ninety minutes

You are not lecturing. You give the idea in fifteen minutes and then spend an hour moving between benches asking better questions than the ones you are asked. The best days are the ones where nothing works first time and everyone leaves pleased anyway.

  • Curriculum, materials and kits all prepared for you
  • Small groups: twelve in class, fifteen at camp
  • Paid preparation and training time
  • A nut-free, well-equipped space you do not have to set up from scratch
